Emily Bett Rickards is a Canadian born actress. She is most well-known in America for her role as Felicity Smoak, portrayed by The CW series Arrow. Rickards, who was raised on the coast of British Columbia, is Canadian. In order to begin her professional career, she began with musical theater and dancing with the intention of eventually being able to introduce more professional acting. After high school, she graduated earlier and enrolled in the Vancouver Film School, completing the Acting Essentials Program. Through the open audition that followed the search for an agent, she was able to find one for her. Alida Vocal Studio was her place of study in Vancouver. She was originally signed to be a guest on one episode of the series, but her positive reactions from viewers and her ability to sarcasm was the catalyst for her to first appear as a guest-star, then being a co-star for the rest of season 1.
