Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington is a Greek American author syndicated columnist as well as a businessperson. Her birthplace was in Greece but moved to England at age 16. Then, at Cambridge University, she graduated with an MA at the level of economics. The years that followed after her college graduation, she was an important conservative syndicated journalist. After a few years later, she founded The Huffington Post which featured critiques of the current political scene. Her status as a celebrity helped to get a number of prominent contributors to publish their thoughts on news, politics and other topics. Arianna was famous in 2003 after she decided to be independently in the California recall election, to take over the then governor Davis. Alongside this, she led the Detroit Project for fuel-efficient cars. In 2009, she was ranked by Forbes as one of the top women in media gaining 12th spot on the ranking. In the same year the Guardian named her to the Top 100 Media list. AOL Inc. purchased The Huffington Post, and she became president of the group of media. It included a variety of AOL brands at the time like Engadget AOL style list and Patch Media. Her parents were Elli and Konstantinos Stasinopoulos. Konstantinos was a business consultant and journalist. While she enjoyed a strong friendship with both her parents, it was their bond that shaped her. Even during her formative period, she displayed the qualities of a leader for which are still in high demand. After the 16th year of her life she started her studies within Cambridge, United Kingdom at Girton College Cambridge. When she was in the college years, she enrolled in the college debate society Cambridge Union where she became the first foreign president and was also the third female president. Her graduation was in 1972 and she earned master's degrees in Economics. After graduating, she worked as a critic for a newspaper column and hosting a show on TV. In addition, she appeared with Bernard Levin in an episode of Face the music and started making books with his editing assistance.
