Sheryl Underwood is she is an American comedy and television star best known as the anchor the talk show The Talk, a popular talk show that airs on daytime TV. She was born and raised in Little Rock. Sheryl was raised in the midst of a challenging family. Sheryl spent most of her childhood looking after her sister Frankie, who had polio. When she was growing up, Sheryl experienced many issues with her mother. Sheryl says that her mother one time slapped her father because he was too close. Sheryl joined the military after her college graduation. But her passion was comedy. She was the first woman to be a finalist in the competition Miller Lite Comedy Search held in 1989. Her TV career started in 1992 when she appeared on the HBO comedy program Def Comedy Jam. In 2000 she hosted Oh Drama! Oh Drama! Since 2011, she has been acting as co-host on the talk show The Talk. In addition, she has played fictional characters in series like Bulworth Nikki, Bulworth or Beauty Shop.
