Sheryl-Underwood

Sheryl Underwood is an American comedian, TV host and performer most well-known for her role as host of the popular daytime talk show The Talk. Sheryl was born in Arkansas and grew up in Little Rock, Atwater, as well as Atwater. Sheryl comes out of a very troubled background. She spent the majority of her young life caring for her younger sister Frankie suffering from an illness called polio. As a child, her relationship with mother was rocky. Sheryl says that her mother was once brutally stabbed by her father because he was too close. After her graduation from college, Sheryl joined the military. Her passion for the military was comedy. She was the first female winner of the Miller Lite Comedy Search in 1989. In 1992, she began her TV debut with regular appearances on the HBO show Def Comedy Jam. In 2000 she appeared as host of the television talk show Oh Drama! In 2011, she began appearing as a co-host on the talk show The Talk. Additionally, she's played fictional roles in series including Bulworth Nikki and Beauty Shop.
